The Tarptent StratoSpire 1 is Tarptents best-performing solo model across the widest range of weather conditions. The patented design of the StratoSpire 1 uses trekking poles and an unconventional design to maximize the amount of useable living space. The result is an unbelievably spacious interior, with exterior support strong enough to weather multi-day storms. Need to sleep two or more? Have a look at the StratoSpire 2.

Note: The tents must be seam sealed, silicone not included. How to do:
On my trek through Scotland in May 2018 during the TGO Challenge, my hiking buddy Niels (former owner backpackinglight.dk) – used the Stratospire during the trip. He had been using the tent for years, and for good reason. I can honestly say that I had gear envy. My first three days I hiked with a floorless shelter, and the rest of the trip I used a single hoop tent. Next time I walk through Scotland I will be using the Stratospire.
The Tarptent Stratospire uses two trekking poles for setup, the inner tent is pitched with the outer – so you don’t have to put them up separately in rain and so on. The inner tent can easily be taken out and the outer fly used by itself to create a massive solo or two man floorless shelter. The 30 denier silnylon means that the tents has excellent durability and will be able to withstand any amounts of rain you find yourself in.
Something to think about when using the Tarptent Stratospire is that it does use two trekking poles for set-up, you can of course buy two tent poles instead. Also, the floor on a Tarptent is also Sil-nylon. So you still need to choose a proper campsite and not pitch the tent on extremely wet ground as water can seep through the bottom if your not careful. It’s normally not a problem, but if your used to the really thick polyurethane plastic floors, than it’s important to keep that in mind.

The solid interior (which has 2/3 solid, 1/3 mesh walls and a solid roof) blocks horizontal blowing wind, sand, snow, and rain.
